KC is pleased to offer the first Try-Goalie camp to families with young athletes interested in the position, and wish to gain a hands-on feel of what the position entails. This is a 4-day workshop
led by KC’s Director of Goaltender Development Evan Kurylo, and staffed with current KC AAA goalies.
Dates: August 8-11
Times: Presentations 5:45-6:30, Ice Session 7:15-8:15
Location: KC Arena Boardroom & Arena (13160 – 140 Avenue)
Topics:
● Demands of the position & differences between being a goalie and being a player
● Trends & research about when to commit to the position full-time
● Equipment differences, fitting, styles & types
● Being a goalie parent
● Introduction to KC’s goaltender development program
On-Ice:
● Mobility fundamentals
● Positioning fundamentals
● Understanding the position & reads
● Puck-tracking, recovery, puckhandling
Cost:
● $50 per goalie for all 4 days
Equipment:
● Free to borrow from KC
● August 5 & 6 fittings
● Pads, chest protector, catcher, blocker
● Credit card imprint required prior to renting
● To be returned after the camp
